Insightful London consultancy

Our approach

Principled. Objective. Independent.

We combine 20+ years of experience in public interest research with a commitment to intellectual clarity, methodological integrity, and real-world relevance.

Why choose us

Amarta is small by design. Agile, selective, and personally invested.

We only take on work we believe in and deliver with high attention to detail and ethics. We work behind the scenes when needed, mindful of your organisation’s privacy and priorities. Based in the UK, we work with organisations across the UK and internationally.

We deliver timely, objective research on complex and sensitive topics.

Literature reviews & needs assessments

We produce concise, evidence-based reviews to map what is known and what still needs to be explored. Amarta's needs assessments help clients understand gaps, priorities, and the views of underrepresented communities, providing a robust foundation for advocacy planning programme design and funding bids.

Mixed methods research

We use both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore complex issues from multiple angles. Our approach combines tools like surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and desk research, guided by the specific aims, scale, and sensitivities of each project. We apply statistical analysis to interpret quantitative findings to draw meaningful, evidence-based insights.

Policy & advocacy research

We design and deliver timely research that informs public debate and strengthens the evidence base for organisations working in contested or politically sensitive areas. Our work supports strategic decision-making and helps clarify what’s at stake for policy, practice, and rights.

Evidence to inform campaign & legal positions

We gather and analyse data to support persuasive, evidence-based arguments for campaigns, legal contexts, and public debate. Our research helps advocacy groups, legal teams, and communicators build credible cases for reform, inform fundraising, and shape compelling public messaging.

Monitoring & evaluation

We can help organisations assess the effectiveness of their programmes, track outcomes, and learn from what works. Whether developing indicators, evaluation planning, or conducting an independent review, we ensure that learning is meaningful and useful.

Clear London research

Guiding principles

We imagine a world where clarity, compassion, and courage shape how we understand and respond to complexity. We aim to deliver clear, independent research that informs decision-making in sensitive, contested spaces. We aim to help advocacy groups, charities, and public interest organisations act with confidence, credibility, and care.

How we work

At Amarta Research, we work collaboratively to design research that meets your needs while maintaining independence. Following a complimentary initial consultation, if we agree there’s a potential fit, we’ll provide a detailed proposal that outlines the methodology, timelines, costs, and deliverables. We welcome input on research tools during the design stage, but carry out data collection, analysis, and reporting independently. We share draft findings for feedback before delivering clear, actionable recommendations grounded in rigorous evidence.
